Bhatkal: A protest rally was organized on Friday by members of the Hindu Jagaran Vedike and Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Bhatkal, condemning the alleged atrocities against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh by the government.
The protest, which witnessed participation from thousands, caused a massive crowd, leading to the suspension of traffic on National Highway 66 for over an hour, leaving travelers stranded.
The rally began from the Vinayaka Mantap of the Shri Channapattan Hanuman Temple and proceeded through Flower Bazaar, Main Road, and Shamsuddin Circle. The event concluded at the Public Chabutra near the old bus stand, where it transitioned into a public meeting.
During the meeting, Swamiji Shri Rajashekarananda Vajradehi, the head of Vajradehi Math in Gurupur, Mangaluru, addressed the gathering. The event was presided over by Govind N. Kharvi, Vice President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bhatkal.
Prominent leaders, including former BJP MLA Sunil Naik and Krishna Naik, were also present at the event.
