Karwar: The programme to implement information of auto rickshaw and drivers was symbolically launched at Subhash Circle in Karwar on Tuesday by RTO Inspector Om Praksah.

Speaking after inaugurating the programme, he said that the programme has been launched to prevent any toward incident.

These certificates will carry all the details regarding the driver and the vehicle, like the name of the auto owner, drivers name and address, license number, rickshaw’s registration number, nearest police station number and other details, he said.

“As the passengers get complete details of the driver and the rickshaw, they can travel in the vehicle without much fear,” he said and called upon the auto rickshaw drivers to follow all the rules.

“It is also the responsibility of auto rickshaw drivers to make sure that the passengers who board their vehicle are dropped at their destiny safely,” said Mr. Om Prakash.

Traffic Police Station ASI Jagadish Kadavadkar, District Auto Rickshaw Owners and Drivers Union President Deelip Agarekar and others were present.
