For the second year in a row, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday skipped President Pranab Mukherjee’s Iftar.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, MoS (Minority Affairs) Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were among those who attended the event at the Rashtrapati Bhawan culture centre. Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung also did not attend the event.
Sources said the Prime Minister could not attent the event as he was chairing a review meeting of the Home ministry. With a reshuffle expected soon, Modi has been chairing review meetings of various departments.
