Permission must to take up works in CRZ: DC

Sat, 27 Aug 2022 19:57:34    DHNS

Karwar: Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan stated that it is mandatory to get the approval of the Coastal Regulation Zone Management Authority (CRZMA) to take up building construction and other works under the limits of CRZ. Hence, without the permission of the CRZMA, departments should not issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs), he directed.

He noted this while speaking after chairing the Coastal Regulation Zone Management Authority meeting held at his office in the City on Thursday.

Muhilan directed the officials of the Rural Development & Panchayat Raj and Public Works Departments to seek permission from the CRZ management authority to take up works in the places coming under the limits of the CRZ.

The problems that may arise while issuing NOC should be discussed with the Gram Panchayat Development Officers and Tourism Department. Then a proper decision should be taken. Notices should be issued to the violators of CRZ rules. The data of applications sanctioned by the CRZMA and those transferred to the State-level authority should be submitted to the district administration, he asked.
