Karwar: HESCOM linemen were allegedly attacked by an orchestra team from Goa for not giving proper power supply during a private function at Shirwad village near Karwar on 10th April, Monday.

Shirwad village is located near Karwar and the function was organised in a resort. An orchestra team from Goa had come to Shirwad to perform in a birthday party at Hidden Valley Resort. But power supply was allegedly disrupted.

The team began quarrelling with the HESCOM linemen and attacked them with rods. Linemen Sanjay Naik and Pradeep Gunagi sustained injuries and have been admitted to a hospital. The linemen registered a complaint with the Karwar police. The police raided the resort and arrested five members of the orchestra Siraj Shekh, Kharif Khan, Ruturaj Sitaf, Jackson Fernandez and Saif Ali.
