There was a rush of spectators in the Bhatkal taluka stadium for kabaddi tournament held by sultan youth welfare association (S.Y.W.S).  The ceremony commenced with the recitation of holy Quran by master Umair Siddibapa and naath by Zufaif Shingeri at 4:30 pm.

Former president of Majlise Islaah wa Tanzeem, Mr.D.H.Shabbar, praised the team for their huge step in promoting brotherhood and unity in all the communities and tried to spread their message  through their speech by saying “youngsters must be promoted in kabaddi and must be praised for their game”. Vice president of MIT Mr. Inaytullah Shahbandari, congratulated the team for their huge step of organizing this inter district kabaddi tournament. President of sultan youth welfare association Mohtesham Abdul Azeem was preciding the ceremony, along convener and general secretary of SYWA, Abdul Sami medical, amongst many other members were present in the stage.

There will 32 teams fighting for the trophy, including Bhatkal, Mangaluru, Shivamoga, Belgaum, Sirsi, Yellapur and Udupi.

Matches started after Ishaa and started the craze of kabaddi among the fans and winded up around midnight. Five matches were played in which Alfalah defeated Shaheen magdoom, Madeena defeated sun shine, moon star defeated Azaad Bhatkal, lion Bhatkal defeated Preethi shirali and the most spectacular match was between mangaluru defenders and sirsi in which the march went on its peak point but the two teams were fighting for the victory at the end the, it was equal and then best five raids was the decision and at the end mangaluru defenders took the match with three points lead.

The second day will begin with the war between cosmos and haneef abad welfare association. The most appreciable thing is that there is the place of non- aligned umpires from different districts to engage.
