Udupi: A fisherman died while two others swam safely to the shore after a fishing boat capsized at Perampalli of Brahmavar taluk near Udupi on Friday. The accident occured when the three fishermen had gone fishing into to the sea on a small boat.
The deceased fiserman has been identifed as Sumanth (20), son of Bhaskar Mogaweera of Perampalli Padukere. It is said that the tragedy happened when the boat got caught in heavy waves and capsized. The two other fishermen Sandeep and Prajawal reached the shore by swimming.
It is said that Sumanth, who was being washed away by the waves, was dead before the locals pulled him up with a net and took him to the hospital.
A case has been registered at Kota Police Station.
