State level seminar on demonitisation organised by Anjuman Degree College

Bhatkal: Anjuman Arts, Science, Commerce College and PG Centre organised a one day state level seminar on the topic: ‘Demonetization-a step towards digital economy’, here on Sunday.

The seminar started with the recitation of verses from the holy Quran after which professor Devidas Prabhu, the convener of the seminar, gave a brief introduction on the topic.

Chief guest Dr. Shreepati Kalluraya delivered a talk on the current state of Indian economy and the importance of money. He explained the different stages of money and how it evolved throughout the years and how it was first introduced due to the degraded value of substances used in barter system.

Speaking about demonetization, he said that it was a part of monetary policy. He said inflation is not the way how we define it, it is bidding of money by those who have excess money.

Speaking on demonetization, he said that the sudden decision and sudden announcement of this move disturbed the common people due to various reasons such as standing in queues, computer illiteracy to some extent and delay in supply of money, etc. Stating the above reasons as a short run impact, he said that in long run this move was a way to control black money.

Guest of honour Dr. Sudhir Raj also addressed the audience and said, “Until the aspirations of youngsters are not taken to highest level, there is no future for the nation”. He also called Anjuman a visionary institution.

“All government organizations while administering a policy for action and implication, must provide value for the stakeholders of that nation,” he further added.

The guests were welcomed by Ms. Divya. R. Prabhu, Dr. Shreepati Kalluraya also spoke on the occassion after which Anjuman Hami e Muslimeen president Mr. Abdul Raheem Jukaku delivered the presidential addres. The seminar ended with the vote of thanks by Ms. Sumati Naik.

Principal of Anjuman Arts, Science, Commerce College and PG Centre Professor M. M. Shaikh, AHM general secretary Mr. Ismail Siddique, college secreatry Mr. Javed Armar, college professors as well as students were present on the occasion.
