Karwar: Deputy Commissioner SS Nakul, chairing a meeting of revenue department officials, has instructed education department officials to make sure that students are not taught lessons in classrooms which are in dilapidated condition owing to mitigate the disasters caused by heavy rainfall. He asked the officials to make alternative arrangement for such schools here on Tuesday
Repair footbridges
He asked officials to identify all the footbridges that students use to commute to their schools in rural areas and repair them if necessary.
No power outage
Apart from the Wednesday power disruption in Karwar owing to repair work, there should not be any power outage in the district, he said. He also asked the officials to respond to the users related to electricity connection at the earliest.
Instructions were already issued to make sure that all the drainages in the urban areas are cleared so that rain water is flushed out. If not done already, get it cleaned immediately,” he said.
Mr Nakul said that there should be constant monitoring of water levels at the damage in the district. Warning should be given to command to area farmers every time excess water is released to them.
