Bengaluru: Hinting at the New Education Policy having RSS stamp, KPCC President DK Shivakumar Saturday termed it as the Nagpur Education Policy.

"I am not able to understand this education policy. According to me it is not National Education Policy, but Nagpur Education Policy," he told reporters here.

Shivakumar alleged that the government is forcing NEP from this academic year which is not in the interest of the parents, students and experts.
He urged Bommai to immediately withdraw the decision to implement the NEP and hold discussion in the state assembly.

Shivakumar also said though education is in concurrent list, the government has not bothered to discuss even with Opposition parties, before deciding to implement it.

NEP is against students from rural backgrounds and the poor, he said.
