Karwar: Surgeon Commander Ajay Kumar Naik, 32, of the Indian Navy committed suicide on Friday at the Kadamba naval base in Karwar.

According to officials sources, Dr Naik was assigned INHS Patanjali. On Friday afternoon, the allegedly jumped from his apartment and suffered serious head injuries.

He died before he could be brought to hospital.

Karwar Rural police registered a case and are establishing the reason for the extreme step.
