Kumta: To boost sports activities in coastal towns, Raviraj Sports club of Kumta will organise 'National Level Pro-Volleyball Kumta Premier Cup-2017' at Mahatma Gandhi stadium (Manki Ground) in Kumta town on 15th and 16th of April.

According to the organisers, this is the first time in the history of Uttar Kannada district that a national level volleyball tournament is being organised in which National and International level players will participate. Preparations​ are in  full swing as huge crowds are expected to watch the matches.

National volleyball stars, including Kapil Dev, Prabhakaran, Ukkra Pandiyan, Naveen J'cob, Anup D'costa, Vineet Chaudhary, Pramod Hegde of Kumta and others will play for the various teams in the 'Kumta Premier Cup.'

The organisers said, they will be awarding Rs. 60,000/- as the first prize, Rs. 50,000/- as the second prize and Rs. 40,000/- as the third prize along with trophies.
