Bhatkal: A protest was held by Nagarika Vedike members opposing the corruption at Bhatkal sub-registrar office on 18th July, Saturday. The members submitted the memorandum to the Assistant Commissioner.

The memo states that crores of Hawala, black money are dealt on the daily basis at the registrar office. Besides, huge losses are incurred by the government due to the non-payment of Stamp Duty upon market value and undervaluation of money in the name of registration.

It was appealed that charges should be pressed against these officers for accepting the bribery. AC Chidanand Vatare accepted the memorandum. 

President of Nagarika Vedike honorary member Advocate Dattatreya Naik, Nagesh Devadiga, Manjunath Naik, Chandra S Naik,  Sukrappa Naik, Shridhar Naik, Shivkumar, Ravindra and many others were present.
