Karwar: A meeting presided over by MLA Satish Sail on Wednesday planned to construct a modern multi-storeyed market complex in place of the old fish market.

“It is not possible to construct a spacious building in the two gunta land available presently. Therefore, it has been planned to construct a spacious fish market by clearing the buildings near it which are in bad shape. That market should facilitate fish sellers, dry fish sellers and those selling meat. One on end, toilet and parking facility must also be provided”, Sail explained to the meeting.

Discounted rate

He added that the City Municipal Council (CMC) building located before the old fish market and a multi-storeyed building must be constructed there. Shops to 191 shop-keepers must be given at discounted arte.
