Karwar: MLA Satish Sail said that he has instructed tahsildars to release the pension and arrears of Indra Gandhi Old age pension beneficiaries at the earliest.

The then Union government led by Congress in 2013 had increased the monthly pension form Rs 500 to Rs 750.

However, it has come to the notice of me that several people have not received the amount. One of the reasons for this is lack of awareness about this among officials.

He also said that as it is difficult for the 80 year old beneficiaries to personally visit the offices to claim the benefit, I have asked the officials to make arrangements to identify the rightful beneficiaries and provide them pension.
