Bhatkal: Famous Islamic scholar of Bhatkal, Maulana Abdul Rab Khateebi Nadvi has been appointed as the Chief Qazi of Jamaatul Muslimeen Bhatkal. The announcement was made by the President of Jamaatul Muslimeen Bhatkal Mr. Jan Abdul Rahman Mohtisham, soon after the Friday prayers at the Jamia Masjid, Bhatkal.

58-Year-Old Maulana Abdul Rab Nadvi was born in Bhatkal. His father Muhammad Ahmad Khateebi was also the Chief Qazi. Maulana Abdul Rab Nadvi was the Deputy Qazi of Jamaatul Muslimeen Bhatkal for more than 25 years. 

After graduating from Jamia Islamia, he specialized in the Department of Hadith at Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama, Lucknow, and obtained a certificate of excellence from there. He has also been teaching at Jamia Islamia in Bhatkal for many years. He is one of the great teachers of Hadith and Arabic literature.

It may be recalled that after the demise of Qazi Maulana Muhammad Iqbal Mulla Nadvi about eight months ago, the appointment of a new Qazi was yet to be made. Maulana Abdul Rab Khateebi Nadvi was elected in a meeting held at Jamaatul Muslimeen Bhatkal recently. However, it was officially announced on Friday.

On the appointment of Maulana Abdul Rab Khateebi Nadvi as the Chief Qazi, the well wishers flooded social media with congratulatory messages. Best wishes were also offered by the officials of various organizations. Maulana Khawaja Moinuddin Akrami Madani, Qazi of Markazi Khalifa Jamaatul Muslimeen Bhatkal has also expressed his best wishes.
