Mangaluru: Three men, attempting to start a truck, were killed after a speeding pick-up vehicle rammed the stationary truck near Bajathur village in Uppinangady on NH 75 on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Rahiman (23), Madhu (33) and Absan (33) from Bengaluru. A truck plying from Bengaluru to Mangaluru had developed a problem and was parked on the side of the highway. The company had sent another truck driver Madhu and two mechanics Rahiman and Absan to move the the truck.

While the three men were working on the truck, a pick-up vehicle, speeding towards Hassan, mowed the stationary truck killing all three men.

Puttur traffic police visited the spot and have registered a case.
