Mangaluru: Passengers were left stranded after the staff of private buses, plying between Mangaluru and Talapady, staged a protest in Talapady, demanding the release of a private bus driver.

The staff accused Traffic ASI Albert Lasrado of using foul language and for detaining a bus driver who was intercepted for rash driving.

With no buses plying between Mangaluru and Talapady, passengers were left stranded at the bus stop.

Following the intervention of Dakshina Kannada Bus Owners’ Association president Jayasheela Adyanthaya, the driver was released without any case being registered against him.

The bus staff withdrew the protest and urged Adyanthaya to file a complaint against Traffic ASI Lasrado.
