Mangaluru: One person was killed and several people grievously injured after an over-speeding car overturned and fell off the road from the newly inaugurated Pumpwell Flyover.

After overturning, the car had fallen on a parked car below the flyover.

The deceased has been identified as Praveen Fernades (45), a mechanic working at a garage in Gorigudde. The speeding car was coming from Nanthoor and was moving towards Thokkottu when the accident occurred. The victim was inside the parked car.

Due to the impact of the accident, both vehicles have been completely mangled.

Following the accident, traffic on the highway was affected for some time afterwards.

It may be recalled that Pumpwell Flyover was opened on January 31 after decade-long construction work.
