Mangaluru: The heavy rains that lashed Mangaluru on Wednesday exposed the shoddy work of the Mangaluru City Corporation.

Without proper stormwater drains, the rainwater was seen flowing on the road itself, thus inconveniencing both vehicle users and pedestrians.

Several roads and localities were inundated following a downpour for an hour. Rainwater was on KS Rao Road, at Jyothi bus stand and other areas in the city. The rainwater gushed inside the City Corporation pump house at Yeyyadi as well.

In the last 24 hours, Dakshina Kannada district has experienced an average of 6.4 mm rainfall. This includes 12 mm in Belthangady and 10.2 mm in Mangaluru.
