Bengaluru: Rains continued to lash Dakshina Kannada district on Saturday, pushing up levels in water bodies.
In the last 24 hours, Bantwal and Sullia received highest of 40.9 mm rainfall followed by Belthangady—38.5 mm and Mangaluru—38 mm.
Kodagu district received moderate rainfall coupled with gusty winds. In the last 24 hours, the district recorded an average of 9.38 mm rainfall. The rain is active in Bhagamandala and Napoklu region. The water-level at Harangi reservoir has increased to 2,812.13 feet against the maximum of 2,859 feet.
Moderate to heavy rains continued to lash malnad region on Saturday.
Hosanagar, Thirthahalli and Sagar in Shivamogga district received good spell of rains throughout the day. Copious rains lashed several parts of Hosanagar taluk. Intermittent rains lashed Thirthahalli, Shivamogga, Bhadravathi, Shikaripur and Sorab taluks.
Rains continued to batter Uttara Kannada district also. The rains had taken a break in the morning in Karwar, Bhatkal, Kumta and Ankola, but gained momentum towards evening.
There were reports of rains in Khanapur taluk of Belagavi district and Srirangapatna in Mandya district.
