Mangaluru: A hotel employee from Bihar murdered

Mangaluru: A 20-year-old employee of a hotel died owing to a stab injury that he had sustained after he reportedly fought with his colleague near a hotel in Deralakatte on Saturday.

According to Ullal police, Nitesh, 20, and his colleague Tanvir had a fight at the hotel and the latter stabbed the former with a knife. Tanvir stabbed his another colleague Pradeep while reportedly trying to run away from the spot.

The police said passers-by shifted the two injured to a nearby private hospital where Nitesh died. Pradeep is undergoing treatment. The police have registered a case of murder and are searching for Tanvir, a native of Odisha.

Boatman found dead

Jagadish Suvarna, 37, an assistant driver of a passenger boat, was found dead near an estuary in Tota Bengre on Friday. The Panambur police said Suvarna was at a function in his friend’s house till 3 a.m. on Friday and returned to the boat to sleep. Around 7 a.m. he was found dead. A case of death under mysterious circumstances has been registered, the police said.
