11 accused arrested in Mangalore regarding Jaleel murder case

Mangaluru: Around 11 suspects were arrested by Vitla police with regard to the gruesome murder case of Vice President of Karopadi Gram Panchayat, Jaleel Karopadi here on 29th April, Saturday.

While addressing to reporters at SP office, IGP Harishekharan said, “Five teams were formed by police under the guidance of SP Borase to nab the accused. They have been successful in arresting eleven persons and the arrested also include two aides of underworld element Vicky Shetty.”

“The accused arrested are Rajesh Naik of Korapadi, Prajwal Shetty of Belandoor, Keshava from Veerakamba, Narasimha Shetty from Mani, Prashanth of Krishnapura Surrthkal, Vachan and Roshan from Barepadi Puttur, Sathish Rai of Kanyana, Pushparaj, Sachin and Puneeth of Savanoor”, he said. “We have recovered 11 bicycles, two machetes, and an Omni car from the accused”, he further added.

The crime took place on 20th April at Karopadi Gram Panchayat office when some masked men barged into the office, threw chilli powder at Jaleel’s eyes and then allegedly attacked him with machetes.

Inquiries are still on but it is suspected that the cause of murder was personal disputes between the victim and the accused group.

Superintendent of Police Bushan Gulabrao Borse and ASP Vedamurthy were present at the meet.
