Mangalore ACP assaulted for questioning about helmet; youth arrested

Mangaluru: A case was registered in Kavoor police station against a bike rider, who assaulted Mangaluru's North ACP for questioning the rider on his absence of the helmet.

The accused assaulter has been identified as Karthik, a localite. He was arrested on the charges of assaulting Mangaluru North ACP Rajendra. The incident has been reported at Panjemogar of Kavoor police station limits.

According to the sources, the accused Karthik, even after having helmet with him, wasn't wearing it while riding the bike. Observing this, ACP Rajendra stopped him for questioning the fact for not wearing helmet. At this moment, the enraged accused went on assaulting ACP with the helmet as a weapon.

In this regard, the police have already started investigating the matter after filing the case against the culprit Karthik.
