Udupi: A man created mayhem in Vadiraja Road of Udupi District on Monday by throwing Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 notes on road.

The people on seeing the notes rushed to pick it up and later realized that all the notes were fake and a colour photocopy of original notes. When they tried to catch the accused, he had already escaped the spot.

A social worker Madhukar Mudradi collected all the currency and handed it over to the police. It is also said that the man who spilt the note had two more bundles of note left in his hand.

Police are looking out the person.
