Shivamoga: The Fourth Additional District and Sessions Court in Bhadravati has awarded life time imprisonment to a man involved in murdering his wife. 

The accused, identified as Manja Naik, 65, a resident of B. Beeranahalli village, was arrested by the police in January 2015 on the charge of killing his wife Lakshmi Bai.

According to the police, the arrested had demanded money from his wife to consume liquor. On her refusal to give him the money, Naik smashed her head in with a stone slab. The court also awarded Naik a fine of Rs. 10,000.
