Mangaluru: The Mangaluru South police arrested a man for murdering his eight-month-old daughter at Bolar on Wednesday.

The deceased child is Maunasri alias Monasri.

According to Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil, the arrested is Lakshmana Themminala, a native of Kushtagi in Koppal district.

The arrested dumped the body of the child was dumped into River Nethravathi near Bolar Ferry Park after strangulating her. During the interrogation, he reportedly told police that he already had two daughters and did not want this baby. Conspiring to murder the baby, he had sent his wife Roopa Themminala for work.
