Kundapur: A 29-Years old Mangal Kharvi, resident of Dakhuhitlu at Gangolli, who was riding the pillion of a motor bike, suffered grievous injuries after the bike he was moving in met with an accident at Chuttimane Kodlu in Harkur village of Kundapur taluk, that reported on 13th March, Monday.
He was a worker involved with collection of sea shells and was soft-spoken and altruist person. He was a hard-working individual and has left behind a huge army of admirers and friends.
The news of his death brought a kind of disappointment in the village, which resulted in mood-off celebrations on the occasion of Holi.
According to sources, the accident took place on the night of 13th March, when Mangala Kharvi and his friend Rama Kharvi were returning to Gangolli after attending a programme by Karavali Youth Club, at Aloor.
His friend, Rama Kharvi is said to have sustained some injuries while Mangala Kharvi sustained serious injuries to his head in the accident. He was rushed to the KMC Hospital Manipal, but he succumbed to his injuries on Monday.
A case has been registered in Gangolli police station and Mangala’s body has been brought to his home from Manipal.
