Kundapur: A tragic incident occurred on Saturday evening at Kodi Beach in Kundapur taluk, where three brothers drowned while swimming in the Arabian sea. One of them was rescued, while the other two lost their lives.
The deceased have been identified as Dhanraj (23) and Darshan (18), sons of Damudar Prabhu and Chitrakala Prabhu from Ampra village. The third brother, Dhanush (20), was rescued by locals and brought to shore in a critical condition. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Kundapur for treatment.
The incident took place when the family visited Kodi Beach for a stroll on Saturday evening, during which the three brothers went into the sea for a swim. They were caught in the rising waves and began to drown. Local people rushed to help and managed to rescue Dhanush with great effort. However, the bodies of the other two brothers were recovered from the sea.
Kundapur police arrived at the scene, conducted an inspection, and sent both bodies for post-mortem to the Kundapur mortuary. Further investigations are ongoing.
