Kumta: A 25-year old youth succumbed to the injuries, which he suffered after falling from his bike while trying to save a dog, which come across his bike at Hubbanageri in Kumta taluk on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Arvind Ramakanth Harikantra, a resident of Holanagadde in the taluk.

It is said that Arvind hit a compound beside the road, after losing control over his bike while saving the dog and breathed his last while being taken to the Manipal hospital. The deceased person’s brother Raghavendra Harikantra filed a complaint in this regard at the local police station, said PSI E C Sampath.
