Kumta: Three tourists, hailing from Bengaluru, lost their lives after drowning in the main beach here at Gokarna in the taluk on Thursday. 

Sources informed that a group of 16 people had been to Gokarna. After visiting the temple, they went out to venture in the main beach. Among the total, five people were drowning in the sea, after which with the help of locals they were rescued, but sadly three of them succumbed.

The deceased are identified as Suma Siddaraju (21), Tippesh Nayak (20), and Ravi (35).

A case has been registered in Gokarna police station.
