Kumta: A woman committed suicide by hanging herself with the scarf at her mother's place in Handigon here at Kumta in the early morning on 13th July, Wednesday. 

The deceased has been identified as Priya Chidanand Naik (28), a housewife, staying near court road in Kumta. 

Sources say that a death note was found in which it was written that she herself is the reason behind her death. The exact reason for suicide is not known yet.

In this regard, a case has been registered in Kumta police station and further investigations are on.
