Kumta: One youth was declared dead while another was reported serious after they drowned while swimming at Kudle beach, a tourist spot in Gokarna of Kumta taluk.

The incident took place in the early evening of 28th November, Monday. 

The deceased youth has been traced as Wahid Khan (21), a resident of Jaipur of Rajasthan. While another drowned victim has been identified as Akshay, a resident of Mumbai. Akshay was rescued immediately, and was rushed to Kumta's hi-tech lifeline hospital for treatments.

In this regard, a case has been registered in Gokarna police station and further investigations are on.
