Kumta: A student reportedly drowned in a small lake located across Maruti temple at Handigon in Kumta on 17th July, Sunday.

The deceased student has been identified as Ritesh Patgar (17), a resident of Alvekodi in Kumta. Sources say that the deceased was the student of PUC  in Nellikeri govt PU college in Kumta. It is said that he had gone for a swim in the lake

In this regard, a case has been registered in Kumta police station.
