Kumta: Deepak Vinod Naik, who serves as a police hawaldar under state intelligence department in Kumta, was honoured with the 'Chief Minister' gold medal in an event held at the police ground in Bengaluru recently.
Around 117 people from Karnataka were honoured with the 'Chief Minister Gold Medal' award, among whom Deepak Naik was the only person from Uttara Kannada district to receive this award.
Deepak Naik hails from Kajubagh, Karwar, but is currently serving at the intelligence department at the Kumta police station. Earlier he served in Bhatkal with the same department.
Home minister Dr. G Parameshwar, Senior Director of Police and Senior Police Inspector Roopkumar Datta, Kempayya, Chief Secretary of government Subhash Chandra and many others were present with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramiah.
