Riyadh: King Salman said Sunday in a speech that Saudi Arabia is facing challenges in the international community and must be “cautious and alert” as it works to achieve “peace and stability.”
The king made his remarks at the Royal Court at Al-Yamamah Palace as he welcomed Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir, senior ministry officials and heads of Saudi missions from abroad.
“It is obvious to all the challenges facing the Kingdom, and developments in the international arena, which may affect their interests,” King Salman said, “and what it required of cautious and alert, to define the positions of the Kingdom and its keenness to achieve peace and stability in the international community, with the importance of pinpointing the kingdom’s approach and policy, which is based on moderation and tolerance and moderation, co-existence between peoples, and the renunciation of violence and terrorism and good neighborliness as well.
Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir also spoke, noting to the king that “your ambassadors to the countries of the world, men who keep their promises, bear responsibility and have faith ... appeared before you today having the honor to renew loyalty and testament, and to assure the determination on keeping the sincerity and diligence.”
Al-Jubeir added: “Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, we stand before you today to listen to your wise guidance, and to be acquainted with your insightful opinions … May Allah bless you, loving king, wise leader, and wise guide, calling on Allah Almighty to help you.”
