Kochi: Two migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh were killed after a tractor lost control, collided with a car coming from the opposite direction and overturned in Kerala’s Ernakulam district.

According to sources, the accident occurred on Tuesday evening near Villanchira on the Kothamangalam–Neriamangalam road. The road forms part of the Kochi–Dhanushkodi National Highway.

The deceased have been identified as Pradeep and Satya, both residents of Uttar Pradesh. Reports said they were travelling on the tractor.

Sources said the tractor was carrying machinery used for rock-breaking work. After the driver lost control, the tractor collided with the car approaching from the opposite direction and overturned on the road. Pradeep and Satya sustained serious injuries and died at the spot.

The bodies were later shifted to the Kothamangalam Taluk Hospital.
