Karwar: Condemning the Bharat bandh call given by Congress and other parties, district BJP spokesperson Rajesh Naik on Friday said those who support the bandh are disloyal to the country.

He told reporters on Friday that AICC president Sonia Gandhi Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and other politicians are opposing the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 banknotes as they have black money in their possession. They are planning to observe bandh for their own benefits, he alleged. The common people faced some problems due to note ban. But now, the situation is turning to normal. Moreover, people are happy with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to ban high value notes. But some politicians, who possess black money, are in trouble. Hence, they are opposing the demonetisation and supporting the bandh, he said. After demonetisation, terrorism and naxal activities have come down as fake currencies have become useless now. The move by the PM has been welcomed by people, economists and intellectuals of the country, he said. BJP leader Jagaraj Josh requested the people not to support the bandh. “For the welfare of our country, the PM has taken as strong decision. We, citizens, should respect the decision, which is going help the country in the long run,” he added. He requested the Income Tax Department to keep an eye on those who are supporting the bandh.
