Kasargod: The dead body of a two-and-half year old boy who had went missing on Sunday from his house at Chengala in the outskirts of the town was found on 4th September, Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Saiban, s\o Ahmed Kabeer and Ruksana, a couple from Chengala in Cherur.
According to sources, Saiban went missing on Sunday while he was playing in the courtyard. Even after searching for a long time, the family members and locals failed to find the boy.
Hence, they asked for help from the police and fire brigade. However, when they too were unable to find the boy in the village, they started searching in the local Chandragiri rivulet flowing adjacent to the house.
Finally, they found the dead body of the boy four kilometers away from the house of the deceased.
Local MLA, N A Nellikunnu, deputy superintendent of police, M V Sukumaran, tahsildar, Narayanan and others had visited the spot and had guided the search operations earlier.
A case stands registered at the police station.
