Three accused have been arrested in Riyaz murder case

Kasargod: According to the investigation team involved with the murder case of Riyaz Maulvi from Madikeri, working as a Madrasa teacher here, it is found that two of the three accused involved with this murder were Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS) activists.

The accused namely, Ajesh (20) and Akhilesh (25) of Kelugudde are involved with the RSS in the capacity of Mukhya Shikshaks.

During the investigations, both have denied to have any connection with the RSS. But while checking the call details, it was learnt that Ajesh is a member of the BJP. The police are also checking the messages exchanged from Ajesh and Akhilesh’s mobiles.

The investing officers have found that Ajesh had taken part in the protest rally taken out in the town relating to the murder of a BJP activist at Kannur a few months back. Meanwhile, the photos of accused Ajesh in RSS uniform is also circulated in social media.

Along with Ajesh and Akhilesh, police have also arrested Nthin in connection with the murder.

However, district BJP president, K Srikant, is insistent that BJP and Sangh Parivar have nothing do with the accused named by the police.

All the three have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody. The accused have been lodged in Kanhangad Sub-Jail.
