Karavali festival to be held in December

Karwar: Large and Medium Industries and infrastructure Development minister RV Deshpande has announced that Karavali Fest will be held on December 10, 11 and 12 at Karwar.

He said last year, due to severe drought situation celebration were dropped. This time National and State artist will be invited for cultural programmes and priority will be given to local artistes and celebrations includes activities like sports and cultural competitions and exhibitions.

The co-fest will be organised at Joida and Mundgod on December first week. The fest will be a stage for various cultural programmes including local folk culture, he added.

Likewise, preparations would be carried to celebrate the two-day Kadambotsava in February 2017, he said, adding Pampa Awards have to given at fest. He directed officials to start preparations right away and to send proposals to Kannada and Culture Ministry and Tourism Ministry for necessary funds for preparation fest.
