Karwar: Deputy Commissioner SS Nakul has informed that second phase of pulse polio campaign will begin in the district from April 30.

Presiding over district level pulse polio campaign committee meeting on Tuesday, he said, in the district as many as 85,197 children from rural areas and 28,629 children from urban areas had been covered under the campaign(total of 1,13,826), thereby achieving 100% target.

He praised the efforts of the staff of Health and Family Welfare Department for this achievement.

The commissioner hoped same achievement should be continued in second phase also. Campaign would be launched at 8 am on April 30.

Each house should be visited to all three days of the campaign and polio drops should be administered to all the children below five years, Nakul observed.
