Karwar: Rs 6.22 crore input subsidy offer crop loss released: DC Nakul

Karwar: Rs.6.22 crore, has been credited as input subsidy into the accounts of 14,194 farmers who had suffered crops loss in monsoon season, by State government on Tuesday.

 "Input subsidy has been released for all the accounts which have been linked to Aadhaar Card numbers", stated DC S.S.Nakul.

Complete process

He said that the farmers who had not yet linked their accounts with Aadhar must complete the process as early as possible.

Rs.1.28 crore for 3727 farmers in Siddapur taluk, Rs.2.50 crore has been released for 4672 farmers in Haliyal taluk, Rs.1.69 crore for 3934 farmers in Mundgod taluk, and Rs.73.39 lakh has been released in Yellapur taluk for 1771 farmers.

Nakul also said that a compensation amount of Rs.13.70 crore is still to be released for as many as 17001 farmers of all the four taluks which he said will be alloted to them once they have linked their acounts with Aadhar.

Crops loss for the 2016-17 monsoon season had been reported in 10139 ha in Haliyal taluk, 5909 ha in Siddapur taluk, 9000 ha in Mundgod taluk and 4250 ha in Yellapur taluk.

The survey had put the crop loss involving 31195 farmers, estimated to Rs.19.92 crores.
