Karwar: Congress candidate Sanjay Henbar has registered his win in the election of Ram Nagar in Joida taluk of North Canara. This election was conducted for the vacant seat after the suicide of independent candidate of zilla panchayath, Vilas Naik.

According to the sources, Congress candidate Sanjay Henbar got 5077 votes whereas BJP candidate Shouk Dutta Desai got 4296 votes & JDS candidate got 2346 votes. With the difference margin of 781 votes Congress candidate won this District panchayat election.
