Karwar: The investigation of the transfer of high denomination banned currency notes has been accelerated and the police have widened the net to grab the person from Goa, who was behind the transportation of these notes.

The mobile records of Vani Prabhu of Mundgod, who is accused for the illegal transportation of banned notes, are also being verified with regard to the incident.

A bag consisting of high denomination banned currency notes was delivered by a person in Madgaon to three women who further handled the transportation of the bag. The women were caught by the Chittakula police on 22nd April.

"The name and details of the person is still unknown", informed PSI Umesh Pavuskar. "Vani Prabhu has been brought to police custody and then later was handed over to judicial custody. She will remain there until 5th May", he added.
