Karwar: Zilla Panchayat incurred a loss of Rs. 75 crore due to the water pipelines which were broken in the process of the expansion of four-lane national highway, said ZP CEO Ram Prasad Manohar.

Speaking  during the Panchayath review Meeting held on Monday, he said that he was disappointed because of the absence of NHAI (National Highway Authority of India) officers in the meeting and warned if they continued to remain absent during meetings then stringent action will be taken against the officers.

"Currently, a case has been filed by Zilla Panchayath administrators against NHAI officers. In spite of this, the officers are not presenting the detailed reports over the losses incurred. If this type of negligence continues, then a criminal case will be filed against them," he said.
