Around 37 centres set up for SSLC examination

Karwar: P K Prakash, Deputy Director of Public Instruction Department said on 28th March, Tuesday, that all preparations have been made, under the guidance of the deputy commissioner to hold SSLC annual exams transparently and systematically in Karwar educational district from 30th March to 12th April.

"A total of 10,285 students will write the exam in Karwar educational district which comprises Karwar, Bhatkal, Ankola, Honnavar and Kumta taluks. As many as 9863 fresh students including 4844 boys and 5019 girls and 424 repeaters will write the exams”, he said while speaking at a press conference on Tuesday.

“Students can opt for skill based subjects as third language under the National Skills Qualifications Frame work. This has been introduced in 100 schools across the State on experimental basis. Under this, ten students from government high schools in Karwar educational district are writing exam on automobile subject”, he further added.

According to the sources, around 37 exam centres have been set up in the district including an exclusive centre for private students. 15 of the centes in aided schools have installed CCTV cameras and tight police security has been put in place around the exam centres.
