Karwar: A gillnet boat sank into the Arabian sea near Alwewad in Karwar, while the fishermen were returning to the shore on 2nd May, Tuesday.

However, the four fishermen who were on the gillnet boat were able to have a miraculous escape.

The boat was owned by Manjunath Duri, who had lent the boat to four fishermen namely Anand Sadiya, Pandarinath Duri, Vilas Mehta and Shekar Morji. They had boarded the boat to venture into the deep sea for fishing.

According to the sources, the boat sanked due to losing control in the high tides while returning.

The fishermen at the shore saw the boat sinking, rushed in to help the fishermen on board and hence rescued them.
