Karwar: DC asks farmers to enroll for fasal Bheema Yojana

Karwar (DHNS): Deputy Commissioner SS Nakul has called the farmers of the dsitrict to enrol under fasal Bheema Yojana (crop insurance scheme) for rabi and summer crops and pay their premiums.

The dates for paying the premium has been extended till December 31 and December 28 respectively.

For the rabi (rain-fed) cultivation, farmers form Ankola, Belekeri, Balale, Basgod, Honnavar, Manki, Kumta, Kujalli and Gokarna hobli are eligible. The crop insurance coverage for per acre would be Rs 44,000 and the farmers have to pay a premium of the insurance cover will be Rs 82,000 per acre and the premium amount would be Rs 1,230.

In rain-fed area, the crop insurance cover will be Rs 29,000 and the premium will be Rs 435. For summer crops, the insurance cover will be Rs 44,000 and the premium will be Rs 660.

The farmers who enroll will get compensation as per new policy. All farmers should compulsorily enroll for this crop insurance scheme.
