Karwar: The flower show, organised as part of Karavali Utsav, at Deputy Commissioner’s office premises, received good response as varieties of designs including birds, warship and elephant attracted people.
Horticulture Department has organised flower and fruits show during the three-day cultural extravaganza being held in the beach city Karwar.
Artists designed warship INS Vikramaditya using 7500 carnation flowers while elephant prepared using arecanut which is the main crop of the district has been attracting visitors. Artists proved their skills in designing every object in the flower and fruit show.

On the first day, school and college students thronged the show venue while general public lined up to watch the systematically arranged flowers and fruits. Clicking photographs on mobile phones and selfie crazy was seen with every batch of students entering into the venue. Even families who came to the exhibition seemed keen on taking selfies rather tan watching the designs.
Karnataka flag officer Rear Admiral KJ Kumar inaugurated the flower and fruit show. District In-charge minister RV Deshpande visited the exhibition and expressed happiness over aesthetically arranged fruits and flowers. Deputy Commissioner SS Nakul and his family members went through every artistic creation exhibited in the show.
Art exhibition has been organised on the corridors of Deputy Commissioner’s office. An art fair would also be held to encourage artists.
Exhibition stalls have ben setup on the lift of the main entrance to Tagore beach. Various have been selling various products to customers. An amusement park has been established at Bilt Circle.
